Birth of SnoMo

Picture
Taiwanese UT alumni, Ming Chen and John Sun, after being baked for years in the unbearable Texas heat, desperately yearned to cool down with a popular traditional Taiwanese summer dessert that they remembered from home, the Sno Ice. But, frustrated year after year with the fact that no one sells Sno Ice in Austin, they took matters into their own hands and Snow Monster, now SnoMo, was born on April 26th 2014.

Sno Ice?

Picture
A wildly popular Taiwanese dessert, the flavor and creaminess of the Sno comes from the fruit extracts and the fresh milk that are used to make the colorful ice blocks.  The blocks are then finely shaven with a precision shaving machine into the delicious, fluffy ribbons of sno.

Pure Ice?

Picture
The purest form of Sno Ice.  Ice blocks are made with pure water and nothing else.  Freshly fallen snow looks so delicious that many are tempted to just add some fruits, drizzle some syrup, and start eating.  Pure Ice is the year-round way of caving in to that temptation.

Vegan Sno?

Similar to Sno Ice, but made with almond milk instead of milk.  The almond milk base gives the ice a softer, finer texture. Almond milk is also an excellent source of plant-based, lactose-free protein.

Tapioca?

Picture
A round-shaped gummy starch made from cassava root.  Also called bubbles, bobas, or pearls.  Goes very well with Sno Ice, smoothies, milk teas, and even coffee. Popping bobas, a kind of tapioca, are like the caviar of the bubble tea world. They burst with flavors like cherry, kiwi, and pomegranate.

Sno Waffle?

A delicious treat made in-house with flour, real milk, and cage-free eggs.  Its crunchy outsides and sweet insides will melt your heart. Add your favorite toppings and devour!

I'm addicted to sno ice. Will it make me fat?

Only when consumed in large quantities. The massive brain freeze might be the more pressing concern by that point though. Sno ice is less dense and lower in calories when compared to ice cream. =)
